Do you know which library is the largest in the world?  It is the Library of Congress.  It features millions of books, recordings, maps, photographs and manuscripts.  It also has Webcasts and podcasts.  This is great information for your kids to have at their fingertips (no pun intended).  I love having access to exhibits that have been featured, past and present. 

This is a great way to access history in many different ways.  Some of us retain information by looking at photos and pictures of events.  Others will process it better if they read it or hear recordings.  It makes it more fun for the kids to learn historical information when they have different avenues to access the information. 

I really enjoyed looking through the exhibits online.  I could go at my own pace and they provide you with information in each piece.  It is like taking your own tour.

Although the library houses more than 138 million items, not all are available on-line.  Also, don't forget that you can shop at the library online.  This is a great place to get gifts for anyone from a child to a grandparents.  Especially good for any history or political buffs out there.
