Are you looking for a book that is entertaining, fun to read and still challenges you to become a better person? If you answered yes, then you should read The Next Thing on My List by Jill Smolinski. This is the latest book that I have been recommending.

I first heard about this book at the Women Who Read Are Dangerous Party hosted by my favorite local bookstore, Blue Willow Bookshop. The owner, Valerie Koehler, said this was a favorite and it would be one of her top 3 recommendations for summer reading. To top that off, they certainly didn't have a sense of humor or a way with words like Jenna. If...

“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”—Randy Pausch A lot of professors give talks titled “The Last Lecture.” Professors are asked to consider their demise and to ruminate on what matters most to them. And while they speak, audiences can’t help but mull the same question: What wisdom would we impart to the world if we knew it was our last chance? If we had to vanish tomorrow, what would we want as our legacy?
When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn’t have to imagine it as...
