Yesterday, I noticed a Facebook comment that said, "I refuse to turn on the TV today!" I couldn't believe it. No matter what your reasons are, this is a HUGE historical event! I thought to myself, no matter what your political beliefs are, history is in the making. 45 years ago some African Americans still could not vote. Then the Voting Rights Act of 1965 came along prohibiting discrimination based on race or color. That means up to that point, some people were denied the right to vote based on their race. OK, people, we are a melting pot, a diverse group of people for all over the world. We should have equal rights. Now we have an African American as President. That is history and I want to watch it! This is what our country is all about.
Oh yeah, it is also about freedom of speech! So, even though I didn't like what I saw, I was still glad we were free to say it!
