While I had the Chevy Malibu (for the Gotta Love Chevy Mom’s Time Out Program), I decided I needed a Mom’s Time Out that included the entire family. We had tickets to an Astros game which meant I didn’t have to cook and that automatically qualifies it as a Mom’s Time Out.
Our family loves baseball! My son plays little league and dreams of going to “the show” (major leagues)! My daughter plays softball and hubby and I love to watch them play. In addition, hubby and son are diehard 2KSports MLB 2K10 fans! The boys in the neighborhood can almost always be found playing baseball.
The best part about this particular night is that the Houston Astros were playing the San Francisco Giants. Our family loves the Astros and they are our favorite team, but Tim Lincecum is one of my son’s favorite players. He was so excited to get the chance to watch his favorite team and one of his favorite pitchers at Minute Maid Park.
The Astros love for families to come out to the games and I love that they encourage this by offering programs such as the Kids Free All Summer Program.
“The Astros and Minute Maid have teamed up again to bring back Kids FREE All Summer in 2010! Throughout the summer, kids 14 and under can come to Astros games for FREE!
For every full price adult ticket you purchase in the View Deck I, View Deck II or Outfield Deck sections for games through September 1st you can get two free tickets in the same price level for kids 14 and under! That's right, tickets for kids 14 and under are totally free!” - from Kids Free All Summer Program
The highlights of our night…
Unfortunately, I didn’t get a photo of my new favorite food item… Nachos with Buffalo Wing Sauce and Blue Cheese. I have to admit, when hubby came back with these, it sounded a little odd. But I am still craving those nachos. YUMMY! The “gourmet” nachos has one stand on the lower level around home plate (around section 118/119). Next time you are there, I recommend trying some nachos from this stand. And if you notice a line, go ahead and get in, because it is worth the wait. Oh, and could you get me some while you are at it?
What do you like to do on a fun family night?
