Tuesday Tidbits are pieces of information that I run across during the week that I want to share.
This week I ran across a newsletter that is highlighting Internet Safety Month (June). Summer is a time that kids get on the computer more often. If you have not specifically talked about internet safety with your children, now is the time to do it.
Every computer in your home should have passwords and blocks that will keep kids from running across inappropriate information. You may think that your child is too young to google questions or words out of curiosity, but any child over age 7 is at risk. I will follow up on this with a post because most of our kids have more knowledge on using the computer than their parents.
Internet Safety For Kids
I received this from Common Sense Media's newsletter. It has GREAT information and tips. I encourage you to read this information and discuss with your children.
Help parents make sure their kids have a safe and smart summer when it comes to media. Here are a few resources to send home as school comes to a close:

Keeping A Journal
This summer is a great time to start keeping a journal or begin creative writing exercises. I recently found the Lifetips Journaling website. They have great tips on keeping a journal, creative writing exercises and much more. This can be a great activity to keep up with all summer but especially when they let you know they are bored!
