Happy Mother's Day! Mine actually started a few days ago, when I received this beautiful bouquet of roses (see picture on left). These were from YaYa, my hubby's cousin. It was a wonderful surprise!
Then my family started to celebrate last night. We decided to go eat dinner at BerryHill which is in the mall. Hmmm, very convenient for my hubby, who has not purchased my Mother's Day gift. When we get there, he informs me what he and my daughter would like for dinner and says "We'll be back in a bit." They rush off leaving me with an unhappy boy, see picture below to prove it.
This was his pose when I told him I was going to take his picture. He is upset because I wouldn't let him bring his Nintendo DS to dinner. I am such a bad mom (hehe), I wanted to visit and tell him how proud I was of his baseball season that ended earlier that day. I do have to admit that right after the picture was taken he laughed.

After we got home, the kids couldn't wait, they begged me to open their gifts that they had made at school. So we decided to open those gifts then and the other gifts in the morning. I started with Myles gift, it was a DVD that he made in his computer class at school. He gathered pictures, wrote some words and put them together all on his own. It was precious, you can watch it by clicking here. I love it and it reminds me what Mother's Day is all about. He does notice all the things I do and he is appreciative. I love the picture he included of me holding him upside down. That is a typical interaction between the two of us, or so I like to think!
Then it was time for Taylor to give me her gift. It was also a DVD, but this was a copy of one that she made earlier in the year. One of her assignments was a photo story. She could choose anything she wanted and she choose my Dad! He passed away a little over 2 years ago and we miss him and still talk about him all the time. This one is a tear jerker and it brought big tears to my eyes, but they were happy! I knew that Taylor gave this to me because she knew how special it would be to me. You can watch this one by clicking here. The sound is a little off on this, so you have to turn it up and down at different parts. But it is worth it!
I am blessed to have two wonderful children that make me want to be the best mom I can be. I am also blessed to have a hubby that shares creative and fun ways to spend time with our kids. I am blessed to have a mother-in-law that loves me and spends time with us. And family and friends that support me and show me great mothering/parenting tips.
And most of all, I am blessed to have my mother! She has helped me and supported me through this motherhood journey. Her favorite part is watching me struggle through some of the same things she had to deal with. Now I know what she meant when I repeat her words to my kids... "I hope you have a child that grows up just like you!"
Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
